At the outset, I would like to congratulate India for the stupendous success of the recently held G20 conference.

It is of specific interest to us here in Mauritius that the African continent has been inducted into the fold to make it G21. The Indian Business Council (IBC), was founded in the year 2021 with the vision of fostering new businesses, trade and investment and giving a fillip to the already existing business ties between India, Mauritius and Africa. We are committed to creating an environment where collaboration thrives, connections are forged and new avenues for growth are discovered. We have built a solid foundation, in this short period of time, with membership comprising of reputed corporates and individual members with expertise in several areas. We are now ready to play an effective role in connecting businesses between the sub-continent and the African continent through Mauritius. The IBC members have a unique distinction of having in depth experience of India, Mauritius as also Africa. This makes IBC a formidable entity in the area. Together, we will navigate the ever-evolving business landscape, unlocking the full potential of opportunities that lie within India, Mauritius, and Africa. At IBC, we feel ourselves lucky to be based in Mauritius in a very interesting time where the historical business relationship between India-Mauritius-Africa is now gearing up for a surge. As the third largest economy and with its focus to become a developed economy in the next 25 years and the focus on the South-South relationship, Mauritius will play an important role for forging the connect between Indian businesses and trade with Africa. It will be a unique model of growth and prosperity where all the partners will grow and prosper together and in the process, a major part of the global population will enjoy the fruits of growth.
